FAQs
Where are our premium coffee beans and ground coffee sourced from
We have continued to foster long-term relationships with growers and sourcing partners from all over the world. These partners not only allow us to consistently source only the finest Arabica coffees, they also support the farmers and local communities.
Did you know coffee trees yield their finest beans when cultivated at high elevations within a tropical climate? These optimal conditions are prevalent in regions along the equator, spanning between latitudes 23.5 degrees North and 23.5 degrees South.
Vittoria Coffee exclusively sources premium Arabica beans from these top-producing areas worldwide.
What kind of coffee beans are considered the best?
Coffee that scores 80 or more out of 100 as judged by expert Q-Graders is recognised as specially coffee.
Arabica beans grow at higher altitudes in the tropics, and do not produce as much of the plant's naturally occuring pesticide, caffeine. The roasted beans produce sweeter, smoother and more nuanced tasting notes.
Arabica makes up around 70% of coffee production worldwide. Coffee lovers have long since reached a consensus; these are the best coffee beans.
Robusta beans have up to 50% more caffeine, and are commonly used in instant coffee and by some roasters as a cost-effective way to fill coffee blends, but it is hard to hide their taste even in small quantities. These cheaper beans are an inferior grade and have a more bitter, astringent, acrid aftertaste with a woody aroma.
For more information on the differences between these types of beans, see Arabica vs Robusta Coffee Beans.

Are packaged coffee beans still fresh?
We operate one of the most advanced roasting facilities in the southern hemisphere, emphasising both the art and science of coffee. Our state-of-the-art capabilities allow for precise control over the process, ensuring each batch achieves the desired profile with exceptional consistency.
Green coffee beans are roasted to release their oils and aromas, transforming them from green to rich brown and unlocking over 2,000 substances, including volatile aromas and compounds.
We use Probat traditional drum roasters, known for their slow and controlled roasting method that achieves a consistent roast profile every time. The coffee is then weighed and tested using an Optoelectronic Infra-red/LED colour meter to ensure consistent roast levels and a Thermogravimetric Halogen Moisture Analyser for optimal flavour development.
The coffee then passes through a Gravity Separator and a second destoner to remove any broken beans or foreign objects before being weighed again and stored in roast silos awaiting packaging.
We do our utmost to keep your coffee fresh. From the second we unload the green beans, to the first time you open your packet, the beans don’t see the light of day. Our production is an entirely closed process to ensure no unnecessary exposure occurs, and we constantly assess the colour, moisture grind and aroma of the coffee.
We pack our freshly roasted coffee beans with state-of-the-art Italian packaging equipment to retain their freshness. All bags of coffee are vacuum packed, using one-way valve technology and nitrogen to reduce residual oxygen. This slows the oxidation of the beans, prolonging their freshness so you can enjoy their distinct aromas and flavours.
